The Council on Aging of Ottawa
(COA) is looking for skilled and passionate volunteers to help with the delivery of both its virtual and in-person Smart Aging Programs
. Smart Aging workshops are meant to help older adults anticipate and prepare for certain life transitions. Using an activity-based approach, facilitators provide participants with key pieces of information that will help them navigate those transitions more easily. Our presenters guide participants through periods of self-reflection and engages the audience in group discussions about a variety of subjects that will ultimately affect their future well-being.
Workshop presentations, materials and scripts have already been created and facilitator training will be provided to interested applicants.
