RIDEAU VALLEY CONSERVATION AUTHORITY OFFERS EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR RETIRED TEACHERS AT OUTDOOR EDUCATION SITES
    (Posted April 2, 2025)

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority has exciting paid opportunities for two or three retired teachers at their two outdoor education sites: Baxter in Kars, ON, and Foley Mountain in Westport, ON. Both of their site supervisors are certified teachers.

They are looking for educators who can work flexible days and hours to accommodate the needs of local school boards. The schedule is inconsistent, so flexibility is key.

This is a perfect opportunity for retired teachers who want to enjoy the outdoors, work shorter days, and not worry about marking or report cards. The feedback received from teachers is that they enjoy this because the students are happy to be there.

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority Foundation has raised over $100,000 to invite low-income schools to participate in outdoor education, creating more work than can currently be filled This may be ongoing for a few years.
